Customs

So, I've been fairly productive lately model horse-wise. I had done my Guster custom a few months ago, but I never truly posted about him, so I figured I should combine the posts into one.

So this first guy's name is Evermotion, modeled after Guster's latest album cover. I haven't really done an unrealistic custom, so it was really fun to try something new.

It was sort of a learning experience, because I had found out that their cover was made by using ferrofluid, a magnetized paint that makes really cool designs when used with colored paints. I want to go out and buy some just to try making these designs, but apparently they're pretty tiny, and I'm assuming this stuff is pretty expensive.

My second guy doesn't have a name just yet, but as seen before, he's probably also going to have some sort of Guster themed name. But maybe not...

He started off as a grullo, but he definitely needed more brown. So I turned him into an adorable little blue roan. He needs some touch ups, but he's perfectly fine for now

Oh hey look! My beautiful sausage fingers made a cameo!

Thanks for checking them out!

Finally, Some New Tack

Well, I wouldn't really call it tack, but at least its something new! I've been moving along with making halters for all of my horses, just so that they all have something, but I tend to lose interest pretty fast XD. So far I only have one for Hickory, but I will be making some more for the rest of the herd soon. The glue on the sides still needs to my cut off of this one

Editing

My Photoshop CC had also come with Lightroom CC, which I haven't used before. Its now my favorite way to quickly edit photos. I raised the temperature and a few other things, and these photos look pretty darn amazing. I love the way Hickory looks

A Trip to the Beach

Luckily I was able to escape the snow for a week and my family decided to head down south to a cool oceanside town. And for me, trip to the beach pretty much requires me to bring my camera. Luckily, with my new camera case, I'm able to keep a few of my little plastic ponies inside of it. For this trip, I brought my new Safari, who doesn't have a name as of the moment, (and as I said before, I'll get around to a blog post), and one of my old Stablemate foals. I'm beginning to efficiently manipulate shutter speed and aperture to get the lighting of the pictures that I want. These were taken around sunset.

Model Materials

So, I've been looking for some time to try and find sufficient footing for my photos, but I usually cannot find anything. We'll I went to my local craft store, and apparently they have a miniatures section. I was able to pick up a vinyl grass mat, and in my opinion, it looks a lot like the real thing! I will do a post with the model in these first pictures, I forgot I had gotten him

A Christmas Pony: Part Three

And here is the final model I got (in this case, bought myself) for christmas...

Harley D. Zip!

For some time I have wanted him, because I loved Latigo when he came out. And for $28 at Tractor Supply, who could say no? His position looks like he is dancing on his toes, which is sort of funny, it doesn't look the most natural, but i like it. He has itty bitty horseshoes, and he was the first model I had that had them. His coloring is really nice also, and as far as I can tell, he is LSQ

A Christmas Pony: Part Two

My second traditional I got for Christmas! Zenyatta!

She looks really like the real horse! Her mold is really pretty, along with her awesome color. But her coat can't decide what color it is. She looks almost black when she sits up on my shelf. But, as you will see in these pictures, she reflects colors a lot. And she is dappled, I think.  Its really hard to tell, it might just be the model, or Zenyatta in real life has subtle dappling. She looks dark in some, and lighter in others...
And really green XD
My favorite part of her has to be her back legs, and that she is a mare :)
