Halters (Photo Shoot Friday)

Woah! Two posts back to back!

Well, I just wanted to share some pictures of the new halters I was selling. These are the grosgrain ones so they only come in red and black currently. More colors coming soon.

Yes, I know she is leading from the wrong side

The Etsy Shop is Open!

Hey guys!

I am proud to announce that Gold Coast Saddlery is finally open for business on Etsy! It took a long time, but I finally did it. Currently I only have a few halters for sale, but that will change soon.

Thank you for checking it out!

Summer! (and some new tack)

Hey guys! Happy summer for those of you in the northern hemisphere! I'm finally finished with my freshmen year of high school, and now I have time to get back to blogging and doing some model-horse related things. I think I only posted 3 times during the school year haha.

In October, I went to Pocono Ponies Live at CCA. That was my first show, and I had a really great experience! I came home with one NAN card from Goldfly, my TSC Jesse, and 6 other ribbons.

I gained three new models since I last blogged about my new Peter Stone DAH: Secretariat, Babyflo, and Garrett.

Besides these small updates, not much model horse related has occurred over the school year. Now for the new tack part...

I have been slowly inching along at completing my goal of having a halter for every horse in my Traditional collection. I have 7 right now. Unfortunately, I don't have a good picture of all of them together right now, so I will make a new blog post when I make all of them.

Today, I decided to make another bitless bridle. I have made an Indian bosal bridle before, so this time I made a cross-under bitless bridle. It was similar, but I like the style of this new one I made better. I made the reins to accompany the bridle blue and white so the whole bridle was red, white, and blue for the 4th of July. I took pictures of it while the sun was setting so they're kind of blurry and dark, sorry!
Let me know how you like it!

Someone New

Hehe. I know I didn't post about this on the blog because I kind of wanted to keep it a surprise. But he finally came! IT CAMEEEEE!

My Peter Stone DAH!

I had ordered him July 23 and he had just came yesterday. And I love him so much! Exceeded the expectations I had for him. I got him in a sooty palomino, with a star, a coronet band, and a striped hoof. He is my first Peter Stone, and certainly won't be my last.

Wood Background

Here is the wood background I used, again, the image is not mine I just scaled it down a bit for stablemates

Image credit goes to Nichelle Jones

If you just click it and save it then print I think it should work...

Photo Shoot Friday/Another Backdrop

School has started back up and I haven't had much time to blog, as you can probably see. I'm taking all honors/AP classes, so I have got loads of work to do, and on top of that I have Science Research and Math Research classes that I have to write 15-25 page papers for. why am i doing this to myself

I've got a few projects going, nothing too major, I'll post about them when I am finished with them. I have a feeling that they will come out pretty good.

The only new thing that I have done was build a background for my stablemates. And I legit slapped it together in 5 minutes. Again, I used Nichelle Jones's background but I scaled it down a bit in photoshop. Then, I saw my mom had gotten some more paint stirrers so I slapped the paper on the inside lid of the shoebox, and hot glued the paint stirrer to the front. Then I just added some grey paper strips from my last background, some felt for footing and voila! There you have it.
Lighting was awful, I will have actual IMEHA ones soon
Crooked *eek*

This gal's coloring is hard to beat

I'm in love with this guy

Another Model!

Yesterday I was up at my aunts house and about 30 minutes away there was a Breyer flagship store. Luckily I was able to convince my family to take me. I was in heaven. About every new 2016 Breyer model, as well as Toro, Patriot, and Argyle. I really wanted a limited edition one, but the Argyles they had were quite polka-dotty, and Toro doesn't really have a bridle path, so I would have to make him custom tack. And then I saw Cortes. I loved his mold ever since Carrick came out.

I like Cortes because he can represent a lot of breeds. His face marking is tiny, but cute. His left back hoof is pretty cool because its half black, half white. Mine really doesn't have any noticeable flaws, which is good. I can't really speak for his color, because he is just flat black, but the mold is great. Here are some pictures...
